Birth defects can occur through at least 3 ways. In the malformation, the fetus or a structure having a genetic disorder so that "programmed" to develop abnormally. One example is extremity contractures due to dyastrophic dysplasia. Deformation occurs when a genetically normal fetus develops in an abnormal uterine environment resulting in changes in the structure. One example is oligohydramnios causes limb contractures. At the disruption, which are genetically normal fetus suffered from problems which cause disruption of normal development. One example is premature rupture of membranes that cause limb defects.
