Edit Post
Spontaneous rupture of membranes most often happens from time to time in active labor. Rupture of membranes is typically evident as a burst of fluid that is normally clear or slightly turbid, nearly colorless with varying amounts. Amniotic membranes were intact until the baby is born are less common. If by chance the amniotic membranes were intact until delivery is complete, the fetus is born covered by these membranes, and the part that wraps a newborn baby's head is sometimes referred to as a caul. Rupture of membranes before labor started at any stage of pregnancy is called premature rupture of membranes.
