Vitamins including a group of growth regulating substances and the maintenance of life. Each vitamin has a specific task in the body. Because the vitamin is an organic substance, the vitamin can be damaged due to storage and processing.
Vitamins are substances needed for life (vita) and contain elements of nitrogen (amine), and therefore given the name "vitamine". Subsequent research proved that there is some kind of vitamine which was not an amine. Therefore, the term "vitamine" was changed into vitamin.
Before knowing of its chemical composition, vitamins are named alphabetically (A, B, C, D, E, and K). The study then differentiate vitamins into 2 groups, namely fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) and water soluble vitamins (B and C).
