Folliculitis

Etiology
Folliculitis is an inflammation of the hair follicles by Staphylococcus aureus.
Clinical Overview
Itching and burning sensation in the areas of hair, most commonly on the scalp and extremities. Be accompanied by macular erythematous papules or pustules, and crusting with a reddish base in the middle of which penetrate the hair follicle. Hair Growth itself is not disturbed. Sometimes the disease is caused by the discharge (secretions) from wounds and abscesses.
Differential Diagnosis
Acne vulgaris, Bockhart impetigo, Tinea barbae.
