Malaria is an infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites from the family Plasmodidae attacking erythrocytes. Malaria infection gives symptoms include fever, chills, anemia, and splenomegaly.
The cause of malaria is Plasmodium infection, which in addition to infect humans also infect animals, such as the class of birds, reptiles, and mammals. Clinical manifestations of malaria depend on the immunity of patients, the high transmission of malaria infection, heavy or light infection is influenced by the type of plasmodium, the state of health and nutrition, age, genetic constitution, and previous treatment.
