Etiology
Sporotrycosis is a chronic infection caused by Sporotrichum schenkii and marked by enlarged lymph nodes.
Clinical Overview
Spores enter through wounds, first arise papules or nodules, erythematous nodules on the skin or subcutaneous tissue, followed by swelling of the proximal lesion (according to the flow of lymph). Papules or nodules are then softened, burst forming indolent granulomatous ulcers accompanied by inflammation of lymph vessels that typically spread limfogen proximal spread following the flow of lymph vessels, the wall rises, induration, the basis consists of granulation tissue.
Differential Diagnosis
Scrofuloderma, Tropicum ulcer.
