Riboflavin functions mainly as a component of coenzyme Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide (FAD) and Flavin Adenine Mononucleotide (FAM). Riboflavin is water soluble, heat resistant, oxidation, and acid, but not alkali-resistant and light, especially ultraviolet light.
Riboflavin there is widespread in the animal and vegetable foods, like milk, cheese, liver, meat, cereals, and green vegetables. Deposits riboflavin in the body is not how, therefore, must be obtained daily from food in sufficient quantities.
Early signs of riboflavin deficiency, including hot and itchy eyes, cheilosis (inflamed lips), angular stomatitis (mouth corner broken), glossitis (smooth tongue and purple), enlargement of blood capillaries around the cornea of the eye, and can also lead to infant born cleft.
