Niacin is a generic term for nicotinic acid and its natural derivative nicotinamide (niacin amide).
Sources of niacin are liver, kidney, fish, meat, chicken, milk, eggs, and peanuts.
The signs of niacin deficiency are muscle weakness, anorexia, pellagra, dermatitis, dementia, diarrhea, inflammation of the mucosa of the mouth, flushed skin, restless, dizzy, could not sleep, and hallucinations.
