Etiology
Eritrasma is a chronic superficial infection of Actinomycetes, Nocardia minitussima, or Corynebacterium minuissimum in intertriginous areas that usually attacks the land of sweat. People who sweat a lot, obesity, and alcohol drinkers more often affected by this disease.
Clinical Overview
The disease is usually without symptoms (asymptomatic). Starting with local erythema and smooth squama can sometimes appear red brown, then spread to the entire region.
Differential Diagnosis
Tinea cruris, Pityriasis versicolor, Seborrheic dermatitis, Contact dermatitis, Candidiasis.
Prognosis
The prognosis is quite good, if all lesions were treated with diligent and thorough.
