Subcutaneous Phycomycosis



Etiology
Phycomycosis is a fungal infection deep subcutaneous group Basidiobolous and Mucor.


Clinical Overview
Abnormality arose in subcutaneous tissue among others in the chest, abdomen, or upper arm as a subcutaneous node that enlarges slowly after a specified period. Fungus into the skin through small wounds or insect bites, further cause nodules, subcutaneous nodules firmly bounded, chewy on the palpability, tenderness, sometimes arise fistula serosanguineous discharge. Patients are generally not accompanied by fever and enlargement of regional lymph nodes.


Differential Diagnosis
Lipoma, Osteomyelitis.
